What Our Volunteers Do

Our volunteers are what power our rescue. They have many different roles and responsibilities, but the priority remains the same: to always do what is best for the horses.

Our usual volunteer hours are M-F from 5:30-8:30pm, and weekend mornings from 8-11am, but there are other times available based on feeding and occasional events.

Volunteers are given responsibilities with the horses based on our 5 Level System. We prioritize consistency, personal initiative, and a willingness to learn and take feedback.

More information about the level system can be found in the application below.

How to Volunteer

1
Apply

Fill out the online application form so we can get to know you better and see if we would be a good fit for each other.

2
Decision

You will hear back from our Volunteer Coordinator regarding a decision on your application. Our acceptance of applications depends primarily on whether we have openings for volunteers.

3
Meet

If you are approved to be a volunteer, you will attend one orientation to meet the Head Trainers, the other volunteers, and, of course, the horses! This is also when we will collaborate to pick your volunteer days.

Volunteering not for you?

No worries! We have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved that don’t require time committment or being on site with the horses.

Find a horse you love and send them a gift or feed them for a week.
