Skye is an 11 year old Grade Blue Roan gelding who joined MSER with fellow herd mates Bailey and Stella. Skye has been with Bailey all his 11 years of life, and has known Stella for all 4 of hers as well. They are quite the little family.

When he was just a colt, Skye lost his birth mother and was taken in and raised by a nurse mare. When he was just a colt, he was unfortunately kicked in the shoulder by his surrogate mother. We do not know the extent of this injury but we do suspect that it healed in a way that has left him with lasting discomfort. For the moment, our vet has put him on some pain medication and he is already feeling better.

Additionally, on this same leg, Skye needs particular hoof attention from our farrier. Though Skye is incredibly friendly and loves affection, he has not yet been haltered and has a little bit of training milestones to achieve.
